The Kansas bow echo of June 16, 2004
What happened?
On June 16, 2004, a bow echo moved across western Kansas. Numerous reports were received of widespread wind damage, with wind speeds in the 60 to 90 miles/hour (100 to 150 km/h) range.

- Dodge City, Kansas RADAR base reflectivity, 0.5 degree scan angle, from 2350Z to 0433Z
- Notice the east-west boundary in the vicinity of the RADAR--this was a quasistationary front
- Also notice that the outflow boundary of this storm complex moves more quickly than the precipitation does
