A trough passage on February 9, 2005

What happened?

On February 9, 2005, a low pressure system was sitting across southern Manitoba. Associated with this low were several features, one of which was a trough or cold front that passed through the region during the late morning and early afternoon. As the trough passed over the Foxwarren RADAR site, the winds shifted abruptly, a feature that was clearly visible on the Doppler RADAR animation. This animation is presented here.
