The Mount Redoubt eruption of March 23, 2009
What happened?
On March 23, 2009, Mount Redoubt erupted. This eruption was close enough to the Anchorage, AK RADAR such that it was detected. This RADAR also detected an artifact that is usually associated with severe thunderstorms: the three-body scatter spike (TBSS).
