The Saskatoon outflow of April 27, 2006

What happened?

On April 27, 2006, a cluster of showers and thunderstorms formed to the northwest of Saskatoon. Although not severe at all, these showers and storms produced an impressive outflow that moved through Saskatoon in the late afternoon.

Here are the METARs from Saskatoon. Notice that the wind shift and speed increase coincide very well with the outflow passing through the northwest corner of the city, where the airport is located.
