Multiple supercell splits on February 3, 2006
What happened?
On February 3, 2006, a moist airmass set up in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. Supercell thunderstorms aplenty popped up, and in a curious display on RADAR, numerous cell splits were easily visible. The RADAR animation of these storm splits is presented here.
