The Vulcan tornado of June 13, 2004



What happened

A long-lived supercell formed southeast of Calgary, Alberta on June 13, 2004, spawning at least one tornado and numerous occurrences of large (>20 mm) hail.

RADAR images

These images show a few interesting features, such as the persistent mesocyclones (highlighted by the circles), hook echoes (especially on 0.5 degrees at 00:30 and 00:40Z), and a hail spike (especially on the 1.5 degree scans--look especially at 23:50 to 00:40Z)
